Re: [802.3_SPEP2P] Request to pull comments ID3, ID4 and ID149 from the EZ bucket

I found the comment, but it does not reference the style manual.  It is probably best to try to unify – 802.3 is mixed on using “dc” or “DC” (and likewise “ac” and “AC”).

The comment was comment 2 on the initial working group ballot of 802.3da.  I recall val and I looking into this and agreeing with the commenter, who was Paul Nikolich.  Hopefully it comes through below.

We will pull these. For background, on another amendment, I believe we discovered that ieee sa mandated either dc or DC. We should be consistent. If that is right, the change will ripple through the base standard as well when we do the revision.

I'll see if I can find the comment from 802.3da to reference for the discussion.

1/ ID3 and ID4

Can we remove Comment ID3 and ID4 from the EZ bucket; "dc" should be "DC"

Some of these are requested changes to draft 2.1 but also are changes to existing text in 802.3 2022 (clause 104).

This will result in inconsistency and we don't want a mix of 'dc' or 'DC' within a Table or text in the same paragraph in clause 104, which uses 'dc' everywhere.

I don't believe there is universal agreement on the use of 'dc' or 'DC'.

So I think needs some discussion.

2/ ID149

Can we remove Comment ID149 from the EZ bucket; "Typo in bit numbering for mr_ds_period_restart"

The correct bit numbering is 7.531.15:8.

So yes it is still an EZ comment, but the proposed solution is not correct. So should be rejected.

This is a duplicate of ID61 - which is correct.

Thanks

Brian
