The Interim meeting refered to by Deborah relates to G.ason's
DCM Adhoc group meeting on Dec 15 to address requirements for
UNI and NNI signaling. Both RSVP for Optical UNI (which I
presented) and LDP for O-UNI were raised at the last T1X1
meeting. I also submitted the Generalized Signaling for NNI.
All these were adopted by both the IETF and OIF and we
are hoping for a full alignment at T1X1 as well.
This meeting does not involve Data over SONET nor its
GFP.

There was some interest at the Tampa meeting about what T1X1.5 was doing on data over sonet and the generic framing. Here is their proposed agenda for the next meeting.

Subject: RE: [T1X1.5] Interim T1X1.5 Mtg Agenda?
T1X1.5,
Curtis unfortunately can not chair the Interim meeting and I have agreed to
chair it.Based on the charter, initial emphasis will be on identifying the
requirements for the DCM. Once we have agreement, we can progress to
comparing the various protocol proposals. My take is we have alot of work
(and agreements) already on the requirements (T1X1.5 U.S. positions to SG13:
-233, -234, -235, etc.). We just need to put the material in a working index
format for use in comparing. To quickly progress, if we can have volunteers
to work on a requirements index, we can also in parallel have continuing
work on other aspects (protocol). At the meeting, we will give emphasis to
agreeing on the index, and also introduce contributions on the other areas.
And if enough participants, we can have breakout groups to work in parallel.
I would hope we can than use the exploder to progress for contributing to
Jan2001's T1X1.5 meeting. At the recent SG13 meeting, Q19 proposed to retain G.ason, renaming it to
g.astn (t=transport). It was felt by the participants to be non-technology
dependent in it's current form. To follow-up on our US contribution to
initiate work in SG15 on g.ason, we can help to progress the work by
submitting a proposal for draft G.ason. We can use the interim meeting to
start this work, work via the exploder, and hopefully have a contribution we
can agree on from Jan's T1X1 meeting. Also, any other related contributions
need to be approved at Jan's meeting. I would suggest we use the interim
meeting to discuss our proposals for moving g.ason forward in SG15.Let's not be shy from using our new T1X1.5 exploder! To prep for the Interim
meeting, it would be helpful if those planning on contributing, would
announce what they were working on - both to avoid redundant work and others
who are interested can participate. Contributions should be uploaded by Dec
8 for review.Deborah

Subject: [T1X1.5] Interim T1X1.5 Mtg Agenda?
Curtis,
Is the agenda set for this T1X1.5 DCM Ad Hoc meeting in Dec?
Should contributions focus solely on requirements
at this time, or are protocol-related contributions
(e.g., RSVP-TE, . . ) solicited as well?Thanks,
George
