I won't offer a vote on this issue, but I will offer some
unsolicited advice:
An 802.17 interim meeting which faces a choice between co-locating
with 802.3/802.1 on the one hand (in sacramento), and 802.11/802.15/802.16
on the other hand (in orlando), should give at least some consideration
to the question of which other dot groups you are likely to have the most
overlap with. How many of your members are likely to attend the wireless
meetings, and how many are likely to attend the dot3 and dot1 meetings?
If your work is more closely related to the work of dot3 and dot1, and
if your members might also want to attend dot3 and dot1 meetings, you
might save yourself some travel time and expense by co-locating with
dot3 and dot1 in Sacramento (even if it impinges on the memorial day
holiday in the US). On the other hand, if your work is more closely
related to dot11, dot15 and dot16, or if you don't mind the extra
travel, your might favor meeting in Orlando.
