RE: [RPRWG] IP over DCC

Joe

There is a recently approved ITU-T recommendation which covers IP over the SONET/SDH DCC as well as the entire Data Communication Network which transports both Network Management and Control Plane messages.  It is called G.dcn and also covers an IP based DCN for the OTN (G.709, G.872, G.798, etc)..  The editor of G.dcn spec is copied on this mail.  Carmine did a superb job of collecting all the relevant contributions and agreements and incorporating them in the G.dcn draft!

Any and all 802.17 work on IP over the SONET/SDH DCN should reference G.dcn.

Hope this helps you with your draft

Subject: [RPRWG] IP over DCC

Hi all,

Before submitting a draft, I'd like to see if there's been any work on the standardization of transporting IP over SONET DCCs.

I know that there was some kind of draft submitted to the Network and Services Integration Forum(?). Don't know its status but it doesn't address multiple DCC usage. Can someone please let me know if there's been any standards work in this area?

Thanks,
Joe
