RE: [802.21] 802.11 Requirements Teleconference for 5th Jan - CANCELLED

Your comments are very valid and my apologies for cancelling the
teleconference scheduled for Jan 5. I had requested the Chair to
schedule an alternative telecon to cover the subject and he did announce
one earlier today on the reflector. Many thanks to Ajay for that.
As for L2 Requirements for 802.11 and 802.16 we have had several
teleconferences on these topics since July 2005 (at least 6 as I recall)
and we have also had joint sessions with TGu to go over these in Sept
and November meetings. We have received little or no feedback on
requirements in the last couple of teleconferences and even during the
joint session in the meetings. Also as the Chair pointed out, the focus
is shifting more on a solution/proposal to meet these requirements. I
did check with several folks (who have attended these telecons in past)
yesterday on updates to these requirements and there were no inputs. A
few folks did send me mail saying it was ok to cancel this telecon as
well which did lead to the decision of canceling this telecon. As you
may recall we had already cancelled the telecon for 802.16 Requirements
earlier in Dec.
Still there is no reason not to update the Requirement doc if there are
updates and there is every reason to have a telecon, if folks feel we
need one. I also agree that we should have some discussion before
actually canceling the telecon.
The Requirement documents have been posted on the 802.21 server for
quite some time. If there are updates please feel free to send a note
either on the reflector or even directly to me and we shall try to
update these docs on a regular basis. Once again I regret any
inconveniences caused due to cancellation of the Jan 5th telecon and
hopefully the makeup telecon next week should be able to address any
concerns in this regard.
