A somewhat belated update on IEEE P802.3ap status...
Following the comment resolution session at the January interim meeting, Draft 3.3 was generated and a 15 day 3rd Sponsor recirculation ballot was conducted. This recirculation ballot closed February 13, 2007 with the following results:
103 of 124 ballots returned = 83.1% return rate
86 approve votes = 91.5% approval rate
8 disapprove votes
9 abstain votes = 8.7%
No new comments or negative votes were received during this recirculation, hence the IEEE P802.3ap Task Force has no cause to meet during the upcoming IEEE 802.3 plenary week. I will be giving a report at the opening plenary regarding IEEE P802.3ap interim activities.
Per the conditional approval of the IEEE 802.3 Working Group, granted at the closing plenary session in November, 2006, Draft 3.3 was pre-submitted for RevCom consideration. Since the 3rd Sponsor ballot recirculation completed successfully, the document will remain on the March RevCom agenda. I will notify you regarding the status of the document when the results of that meeting are known.
I wanted to thank all of those who committed their time and a lot of good, hard work to bring the project this to this significant milestone.
Chair, IEEE P802.3ap Task Force
