Re: [802.3_EPOC] Link Ad Hoc Minutes, Slides, and Doodle Poll

All,

Based on the poll, it looks like Thursday 9am-10am pacific time is the best choice. We will have our call before the channel model ad hoc so we can't go over an hour. I'm not sure if it is good or bad to have 3 ad hoc calls on the same day but we can decide to change it later. I'll send out calendar appointments.

Thanks,
Ed....

Marek,

No problem. Just point out the mistakes and I will fix them.

Thanks,
Ed...

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the note on the missing affiliations. It would be nice to get these in order in the future.

I also have one small request (not specifically to you, but also to everybody) going forward: can we please use terminology that we have spent already so much time collecting, polishing and preparing for public consumption? I noticed that you still use CMC in your slides, while we have settled so far on the term OCU for this network element. I would like to avoid discussions in which different terms are used for the same thing - that does not help communication.

Thank you

Marek

All,

Thanks for attending the first call. I have attached the slides with the notes. Sorry Marek, but I don't have the company affiliations for all of the attendees. As suggested, I have a doodle poll for the weekly call. Please fill it out so I can pick a time for next week and following weeks. I dropped Monday and Friday based on requests. I went with 1 hour slots.

For the next meeting, I would like to propose a focused discussion on the transport method. How would we recommend carrying the link information in the downstream and upstream? I think Victor had a suggestion from wireless and Nicola has a suggestion of mixed time/frequency. At the meeting in Geneva, I presented time inserted and frequency inserted with a recommendation for frequency inserted. Hopefully, we can select one or two for additional study/definition.

Thanks,
Ed....
