Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBC] discussion on PICS for eBCS termination notice

Xiaofei, Morioka-san,
I think further updates to the PICs are minor, so let's conclude this discussion during the next TGbc call next week.

I've uploaded a new revision of the document as <https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/20/11-20-1695-02-00bc-pics-text-proposal.doc>

Kind regards

Stephen

Hi Xiaofei,

If we separate receive-only STA from normal STA, it may be better to define CFSTAxxx for receive-only STA.
This change can be made in the next round.

If they are lumped together with all non-AP STAs, indeed that will make all transmissions optional. Though I am not sure that is a good approach, i.e., to use a blanket statement for all non-AP STAs because a subset of the non-AP STAs cannot transmit? In my humble opinion, we should be a bit more precise than that.

The reason being that an AP may choose to implement it if it desires power saving, however, a STA needs to implement it in case it receives the termination notice, it needs to react to prevent the eBCS from stopping. What do you think?
