[802.3_SPEP2P] SPE Pt to Pt - Greater than 10 Mb/s long-reach SPE PHY Study Group

Please see Paul Nikolich’s note regarding the November meeting (yes, November, NOT the September Interim which happens in a couple of weeks).  Also, please note that registration and payment of the registration fee is required for the November plenary.

 

One thing this means to us is that we will need to presubmit a PAR and CSDs by October 5 if we wish to be considered at the November plenary for the long-reach PHY.  At this point, we are in need of technical feasibility presentations to support reach, and if a 1 Gb/s PHY is to be considered, we will need that, as well as some discussion of distinct identity beyond 1000BASE-T1.  Please contact me directly if you may be providing such information and would like more information.  While such contributions would be best if presented during our September Interim meeting, if we know they are coming, we can write our CSDs that way.  I intend to be taking (at least) straw polls on rates and reaches during the meeting.  If you would like to suggest options to consider in the polls, please contact me directly, or you may ask for them on the reflector.

Dear IEEE 802 LMSC Participants,

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the IEEE 802 November 2021 Plenary Session will be
held exclusively electronically.

 

The registration fee structure will be USD$50 payable at least 15 days prior (21 Oct 2021) to
the start of IEEE 802 Nov 2021 Plenary Session and USD$75 thereafter until the start of the IEEE
802 Nov 2021 Plenary Session, and USD$125 thereafter.

Attendance at any meeting held during or as part of the Nov 2021 Plenary Session requires registering and paying the appropriate fee, which will cover all meetings during the Nov 2021 Plenary Session. Details on how to register can be found http://802world.org/plenary/.

 

For the Nov 2021 Plenary Session the opening 802 Executive Committee meeting will be held
20:00 to 22:00 UTC (3-5pm ET) Friday 05 Nov 2021, and the closing 802 Executive Committee
meeting will be held 18:00-22:00 UTC (2-6pm ET) Friday 19 Nov 2021.
