[10GBASE-CX4] FW: P802.3ak Approval Notification




Members of the P802.3ak Task Force:

As you will see from the email below, we now have a 10GBASE-CX4
standard!  I would like to express my thanks to Dan Dove for his
leadership, Howard Baumer for his excellent editorial work, and to all
of you that contributed to the technical content and quality of the
document.

As typical for many 802.3 projects, our publication editor has mostly
completed her portion of preparation for publication, so formal
publication should occur quite soon.

Thanks for your good work.

Dear Bob,

I am pleased to inform you that P802.3ak was approved as a new amendment
to
IEEE Std. 802.3 by the IEEE-SA Standards Board on 9 February 2004.  A
copy
of the document will be forwarded to the Standards Publications
Department.
The editor assigned to work on the project will contact you.

All IEEE standards shall be updated within five years of the date of
publication.  If the standard is not revised, reaffirmed, or withdrawn
within five years, the sponsor will be notified that it will be
submitted
to the Standards Board for administrative withdrawal.

Please contact me if you have any questions prior to speaking with your
editor.
