802.1D - MAC bridges
This revision of Std. 802.1D extends the concept of MAC Bridging, introduced in the 1993 edition of the standard, in order to define additional capabilities in Bridged LANs aimed at:
- The provision of expedited traffic capabilities, to support the transmission of time-critical information in a LAN environment;
- The provision of filtering services that support the dynamic use of Group MAC addresses in a LAN environment.
