Message Archives

Email to the lists is archived. Access to the archive requires a username and password, which are distributed to all subscribers.

Archive locations:

  • for the 802.1 and ballot lists:

802.1 changed lists in late April, 2004. The archive for the previous 802.1 list is linked from a footer on each index page of the current archive. That link is always to the thread index, but the date index is readily available from there.

  • for the 802 Architecture list:

In archived messages, header information is modified to reduce the exposure of participants' email addresses. Apparent "links" in the archive might not work, unless you have the full address available in your own address database.

The current version of the archive program does not allow us to hide embedded addresses within a message, so header information inserted by "Reply" or "Forward" actions don't have this protection.

Archive search

These archives do not have search facilities, although we would have liked them. Archive search support holds a high place on the ongoing "wish list," but will not be provided in any way that compromises security.
